What is SRDP?

The SRDP program is implemented in government and government‑aided schools around Shreyas Retreat in Nelamangala, focusing on students from rural, Kannada‑medium backgrounds.

Our Mission

To strengthen rural government school students’ English communication, life skills, and digital confidence through contextual, activity‑based classroom programs, delivered in partnership with schools so they can pursue higher education and dignified livelihoods on par with urban peers.

Our Vision

To create a learning ecosystem where rural government school students gain English communication, life skills, and digital confidence on par with urban peers, enabling them to pursue higher education and meaningful livelihoods with dignity.

Our History

SRDP (Spoken English and Rural Development Program) is one of Kaveri Vanitha Sevashrama’s longest‑running school‑based initiatives, implemented for about 8 years in the rural belt around Nelamangala to bridge the rural–urban education gap.

Currently, SRDP works with government and government‑aided schools around Shreyas Retreat in Nelamangala, closely collaborating with headmasters and teachers to integrate sessions into the school timetable.  Over time, SRDP has grown from basic spoken‑English support into a structured curriculum that blends English communication, life skills, digital literacy, and motivational inputs, backed by baseline assessments, periodic evaluations, and monitoring tools to track progress in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
